About Us

The Inverloch Animal Doc is a family-run veterinary clinic located in the seaside hamlet of Inverloch in Victoria.

Led by Dr Will Hume, the clinic provides expert and quality pet and animal care throughout the Bass Coast and South Gippsland regions.

With a highly experienced and passionate team of staff who care for your animals as though they were their own, The Inverloch Animal Doc can provide all the care and animal products you need.

Small towns don't always mean fewer options or having to travel to find what you need - we can provide your pets with the very best care possible, close to home.

Just as most people prefer to see the same local doctor time and time again, we're here to look after you pets time and time again, whether it's for a quick check-up or more serious procedures and conditions.

Providing continuity of care not only means you get the see the same friendly face you can trust, but our vets know your pet's history and can care for them the best way possible.

You can rest assured that our team take the time to get to know your pets - they become part of our family, and receive plenty of love, chats and cuddles every time they come through our door!

At the end of the day, we are a team of locals, taking care of locals and being there when you need as often as we possibly can.

With our compassionate, high standard of care - you know you'll always be getting the best at The Inverloch Animal Doc.

Our Team

Dr Will Vet

Will grew up in Nar Nar Goon and spent school holidays with his family in Yanakie on their family beef farm.

He did his studies at the University of Queensland then worked for a while in South East Queensland in mixed practice, before travelling overseas where he worked in Saudi Arabia, England and Norway - predominantly in small animal practice and for the most part in a specialist small animal practice.

Returning to Australia in 2010, Will worked in mixed practice before moving to Inverloch in 2012.

Whilst working for five years as a veterinary investigator for the Victorian Government, Will - at the same time - kept busy doing locums for Dr Hugh Thomas, our clinic's founder.

In early 2020 when Hugh announced his retirement, he asked Will if he was interested in taking over and well, there's no prizes for guessing what his answer was!

Dr Kerry Vet

With her own ever-growing menagerie of animals at home, it’s no surprise Dr Kerry has dedicated her career to looking after animals at The Inverloch Animal Doc too!
As our part-time small animal veterinarian, Dr Kerry loves developing relationships with her clients - both the human and the animal kind of course.
When she’s not fixing your animal friends, she's spending time with her husband and three children on their dairy farm in Kongwak, getting away camping as a family, cooking in the kitchen, getting out and about with her camera, or - when she manages to get some quiet time in her busy schedule - sitting down with a good book.
Dr Kerry’s own animal family consists of a three-legged, geriatric Kelpie, a very enthusiastic Foxhound, two cats, fish, guinea pigs, a bearded dragon, stick insects, chickens and LOTS of cows - phew!
As a passionate vet and true animal lover, you can rest assured your pets are in the right hands with Dr Kerry!

Dr Nikki  Vet

Dr Nikki Inverloch Animal doc vetNikki has worked with animals all around the world since graduating from Melbourne University with a degree in Vet Science in 1995.

She then spent four years working in a mixed practice with both small and large animals, before embarking on an epic overseas adventure.

Alongside her husband Mick - who is also a vet - the couple travelled and worked throughout Europe and in England for four years.

Nikki has a passion for African wildlife and conservation, which means its no surprise that Africa has been her favourite place to travel and work to date, closely followed by Russia.

After travelling, Nikki and Mick settled down in Inverloch, where they’ve now been for almost two decades, and live with their two children, two dogs, one cat and three chickens.

Katie Vet Nurse + Practice Manager

Katie began nursing in 1999 after completing her Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing and has since worked in both small and large animal clinics, as well as in veterinary wholesale.

She started working with The Inverloch Animal Doc team in February 2021, and says it's so nice working in her local community, and helping and treating local pets with their grateful owners.

As the Practice Manager, Katie loves working with clients and their pets, and takes every chance possible to have a cuddle or chat with every animal who comes into the clinic!

Katie lives on her family's small hobby farm in Wattle Bank with her partner, three children and an abundance of animals, including two dogs - Molly and Ammo, birds, fish, an eastern longneck turtle, ducks, chickens a noisy Guinea Fowl, sheep, and a couple of ex-racing horses.

She is also 'owned' by her two cats, Pippa and Wicket W Warwick.

In her spare time, Katie enjoys stand up paddle boarding in the Inlet (usually alongside her old dog Molly).

Jacqui Vet Nurse + Business Systems Support

Growing up in South Gippsland surrounded by animals, Jacqui was always rescuing sick, injured and orphaned creatures (much to her mother's dismay - especially when she tried to help out the local rats and mice)!

Despite always wanting to pursue a role in animal care, Jacqui first spend 23 years in a business administration career - but eventually, her dream came true when she completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary nursing and secured a position at A'Beckett St Vet Clinic (now The Inverloch Animal Doc) five years ago.

With a special interest and passion for Australian Wildlife, Jacqui has been caring for a wide array of native fauna over the past 20 years.

She lives in Koonwarra with her husband and two daughters, as well as horses, cats, birds, and Kaypo - the family's Bernese Mountain Dog.

Weekends will often see Jacqui off walking, biking and horse-riding along the rail trail and working on their property, revegetating the land to ensure a safe haven for the abundance of wildlife that share their home.

Di Vet Nurse + Receptionist

Di has been nursing for 20 years, having worked in animal practices of all sizes - big and small.

Raised on a dairy and beef farm, Di grew up surrounded by animals - think sheep, rabbits, horses and chooks galore!

As an adult, nothing has changed when it comes to having plenty of pets, with two 19 year old cats, an active dog, a pet python, turkeys and calves keeping her busy at home.

In her spare time, Di loves riding her motorbike, camping out in the bush and outback, and heading off overseas to explore the big wide world.

Mili Vet Nurse + Puppy Pre-School Manager

Mili has an abundance of experience when it comes to looking after the health of others - humans and animals!

She worked as a vet nurse for over a decade before taking off 12 years to raise her children and explore other career paths, including working as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor, aqua aerobics instructor, swimming teacher and gymnastics coach.

Finally coming full circle back into animal care, Mili is loving being back nursing and working with the great team at The Inverloch Animal Doc.

She lives in Inverloch with her partner, four children and lots of pets, including dogs, cats, fish, birds, chooks, and a snake and turtle!

In her (very limited and precious) spare time, Mili loves racing obstacle courses and sunrise walks on the beach with her two pups in tow.
